StoicTask
notes, tasks, projects: simply, with wisdom
#Method
The StoicTask method is based on principles as old as
the world itself, which modern project and knowledge management have only recycled and
formalized.
The need to collect data and transform information into knowledge has existed since the
dawn of humanity. While "project management" as a term is relatively new, the concept of
managing projects has been around since the beginning of human civilization.
Time is the ultimate scarce resource, and resources are never sufficient.
Dealing with emotions and maintaining focus and clarity has always been a challenge.
By combining new methodologies with ancient philosophy, we have developed a method that,
through trial and error, achieves simplicity and completeness. This method can be
effectively used in everyday life, for managing individual projects, organizing information,
or overseeing complex projects involving teams and deadlines.
Select
Select Notes and Tasks. From the Latin "to separate" and "to bind". You cannot select without eliminating, our attention and time are precious. Know how to choose without emotionalism, eliminate the superfluous, and keep only what is necessary. Anything more is wasteful.
Tidy
Organize with discipline, breaking information into atomic units. Rationalize. To accomplish a big task, break it down into many small tasks. To assimilate complex information, break it into small units and translate it into your own language.
Organize
Knowledge is not just theoretical. Only by organizing and making connections among information is knowledge created. Establishing deadlines, roles, and priorities creates discipline in a project.
Integrate
From the Latin, "integrate": to make whole by complementing one another. We are not isolated; we are connected to the world and others. To integrate is to communicate with the outside world to complement each other. Share notes and tasks with the outside world, sharing and completing.
#Tool
Do more with less, with wisdom.
We developed the StoicTask method, then created a web app so that everyone could apply it in the easiest and most effective way. Compared to a native app, a web app is great for focus since it reduces the chances of distraction when switching between multiple devices. This approach also allows us to offer a continuously improved service. We need a single, simple tool, without unnecessary frills, that enables us to utilize it without being manipulated by it. We don't have two lives (personal and professional), and we don't have two brains (notes and tasks).
